Job description

The Project Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. This is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of client strategy and operational delivery, with direct visibility to senior leadership and the ability to shape how change is executed across a global franchise.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day to day management of executing to milestones and budget on multiple complex projects.
  • Lead the delivery of strategic client onboarding, implementation, and expansion programs, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Drive operational readiness activities across target operating model reviews, process design, testing coordination, and production readiness to ensure seamless client transitions.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across Operations, Product, Technology, and senior management to align program objectives with business goals.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination and decision-making at a senior level, resolving complex dependencies and escalating risks with appropriate urgency and clarity.
  • Identify and manage program risks and issues early, developing and executing mitigation strategies and escalating to senior sponsors where required
  • Drive adherence to project processes, procedures, methods, and standards for project delivery and leverage across the project.
  • Direct the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
  • Apply comprehensive understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority programs simultaneously, balancing competing deadlines and resource constraints without compromising quality.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to communicate clearly and influence at senior levels across diverse functions.
  • Commercially aware with a solid understanding of how program decisions affect business outcomes, client relationships, and organizational priorities.

Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent preferred.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior experience within Investor Services or Securities Services, with exposure to areas such as Fund Accounting, Custody, Middle Office, or Transfer Agency.
  • Hands on background in client onboarding, client change delivery, or strategic change programs within an asset management or fund services environment.
  • Familiarity with operations transformation disciplines, including target operating model design, process re-engineering, or large-scale implementation programs.
