Job Summary:
Nomaco, Inc., a leading manufacturer of extruded foam products, is expanding operations to Mesa, Arizona and is seeking a highly capable Operations Manager to lead our new site through startup and beyond.
This role is critical in establishing a high-performing, scalable operation built on safety, quality, delivery, and cost excellence. The Operations Manager will be responsible for driving day-to-day manufacturing performance while building the systems, structure, and team capability required for long-term growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution aligned with Nomaco's Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily manufacturing operations with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
  • Establish standard work, accountability, and execution discipline across all shifts
  • Drive production performance to meet customer demand and business objectives
  • Serve as the operational leader responsible for delivering results aligned with company priorities and the V/TO

Planning, Execution & Accountability (EOS)
  • Own production planning, scheduling, and forecasting processes
  • Translate company priorities into clear operational execution plans
  • Lead and execute Rocks (90-day priorities) for the operations function
  • Utilize Scorecards to monitor key performance metrics and proactively address gaps
  • Drive issue resolution using structured problem-solving and accountability practices

Inventory & Material Flow
  • Drive inventory accuracy, material control, and warehouse discipline
  • Optimize material flow from receiving through production to shipping
  • Partner with Supply Chain to ensure continuity of supply and efficient logistics

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Engineering on process development, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure product consistency and compliance
  • Align with Supply Chain and Logistics to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Foster cross-functional clarity and accountability across departments

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and manage KPIs across operations (SQDC, OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, etc.)
  • Lead daily and weekly operating rhythms, including Level 10 (L10) meetings, to drive alignment and traction
  • Leverage data and visual management to drive decision-making and accountability
  • Embed and sustain Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies

People Leadership & Development
  • Build, develop, and mentor front-line leaders and production teams
  • Create clarity in roles, responsibilities, and expectations using EOS accountability principles
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and engagement
  • Strengthen communication, consistency, and execution across all shifts

Education/Training Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience
  • Proven track record of improving production performance and operational stability
  • Strong experience in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management
  • Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience in a startup or expansion environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to implement structured operating systems (EOS experience a plus)
  • Experience partnering effectively with Engineering and cross-functional teams
