Job description

Overview

The Service Advisor at Group 1 Automotive serves as the primary liaison between customers and the service department, delivering a premium, luxury-level customer experience. This role involves managing the entire service process—from vehicle intake to final delivery—while ensuring clear communication, accurate recommendations, and efficient coordination with technicians. The Service Advisor plays a key role in building customer trust, driving service revenue, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, identifying service needs
  • Document vehicle concerns and create accurate repair orders
  • Recommend maintenance and repair services based on inspections and diagnostics
  • Provide clear explanations of services, costs, and timelines
  • Coordinate with technicians and the parts department to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding service status and updates
  • Identify and present upsell opportunities for additional services and preventative maintenance
  • Review completed work for accuracy and ensure quality standards are met
  • Deliver vehicles back to customers, explaining work performed and ensuring satisfaction
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction scores and foster repeat business

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive service advisor experience preferred (luxury brand a plus)
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance services
  • Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to recommend services confidently
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with dealership service software and computer systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or technical degree preferred)
