Finance Manager -US - Hybrid role that allows working remote 2 days a week

Location: Louisville, KY

Reports To: Group Finance Director

Position Overview

The Manager of Accounting & Finance is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and core financial processes and will report to the Group Finance Director who sits overseas in Europe. Their U.S. headquarters quite recently was established in Louisville, KY and they are in an expansion mode.

This role plays a critical leadership function in driving accurate and timely month-end close, managing cash flow forecasting, supporting strategic financial planning, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

The position partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and executive leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance, capital expenditures, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee Blackline reconciliations and system uploads
  • Produce monthly financial statements and reporting packages with narrative analysis
  • Present financial results to leadership and participate in monthly review meetings
Forecasting, Cash Flow & FP&A:
  • Own the 13-week cash flow forecast and ongoing liquidity analysis
  • Support monthly rolling forecasts and budget updates
  • Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and budget
  • Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations
Compliance, Tax & Regulatory Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee preparation and filing of returns and reports
  • Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors
Project & Capital Accounting:
  • Partner with engineering and operations to track CAPEX and project budgets
  • Monitor project costs and timelines
Process Improvement & Systems:
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems
  • Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staff
  • Serve as a key finance partner to operations and leadership
QualificationsEducation & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 8–12+ years of experience in accounting/finance
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • ERP and financial systems experience with tools such as D365
  • Advanced Excel skills, power BI a plus
Core Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with tax credits and incentives
  • Project or capital accounting experience
  • Multi-entity or international exposure
