Group Coordinator Opportunity
This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, typically Sunday-Thursday from 12pm-8pm.
The Meadows Psychiatric Center is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central Pennsylvania. We are located a short distance outside State College, PA. The Meadows is a 119 inpatient behavioral health hospital and has been providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for over 35 years.

The Group Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy treatments . The Group Coordinator is responsible to function well as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and participate in the community relations program. Primary responsibilities include coordinating, planning, and conducting patient group sessions on units. The Group Coordinator is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy treatments. The Group Coordinator plans and implements the program's group therapy program, including planning of daily events, special events and providing in-service for other staff participating in the group therapy program.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.
  • Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule
  • Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety
  • Supervise patients in daily activities and assist treatment team with patients to provide therapeutic activities
  • Document patient behaviors, condition, & progress
  • Monitors visitation regarding patient safety.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required, Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field preferred.
  • Post-secondary training or education in related field with experience preferred.
  • Position also requires excellent verbal communication skills; ability to remain calm in dynamic environment; commitment to providing a high level of care to patients of all ages, excellent customer service skills and a reliable & dependable attendance to work profile.
