Job description

Title: District Transportation/Maintenance/Grounds Assistant

Description:  We are looking for a person with hands-on mechanical skills.  We will provide tools for the job, but the tools will be considered property of the school district.

This job requires you to maintain a reasonable amount of confidentiality, such as but not limited to, vehicle information, bus routes, personal information, student information, and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Hold and maintain a CDL Class B license
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds repetitively
  • Computer skills including HVAC programming including schedules and operation
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attendance and work ethic
  • Willingness to work as a team
  • Training will be provided

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on all school owned buildings as needed
  • General building repair
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for work orders, maintenance records and any other documentation
  • Light repair of buses and corporation vehicles
  • Snow plowing and assisting with ice melt spreading
  • Maintain shop equipment and tools
  • Other duties as assigned by Superintendent and/or Director of Facilities and Bus Maintenance

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Have at least a high school diploma or GED

Hours:

      8 hours per day/40 hours per week
