Valiant is looking for a Grounds Laborer to join our team!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cuts lawns
  • Trims and edges around walk, flower beds, and walls
  • Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or removed damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
  • Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides
  • Rakes and bags or burn leaves
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter
  • Shovels snow from walks and driveways
  • Spreads salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup
  • Plants grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs
  • Waters lawn and shrubs
  • Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks
  • Paints fences and outbuildings
  • Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts
  • Sharpens tools such week cutters, edging tools, and shears
  • Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and snow removal equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job involves primarily working outdoors and exposure to the temperatures and elements associated with the region.
