B. General

This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Security and will also interact frequently with the Manager of Dispatch, Manager of Crew Services, Director of Operations, and the Director of SOC, as well as others throughout the organization. The Manager of Ground Services is responsible for being involved with multiple aspects of charter flights, including, coordination, planning, and execution. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of charter operations in Greensboro, NC.

Good communication skills are required, good supervisory and/or leadership skills are required, good/mature judgment, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working in a dynamic environment

C. Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of the Manager of Ground Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the Charter Coordinators:
  • Promote Safety and training of weight and balance.
  • Establish a work schedule for the team and ensure that any on duty, non-flying coordinator is fully trained on stocking and loading the aircraft.
  • Stocking and loading the aircraft is required while at base or on at any time while traveling with the aircraft.
  • Will work closely with Inflight to ensure dry stock and carts are loaded in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all EAL/EAX Ground/Ramp operations to ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and EAL/EAX safety standards.
  • Guide the development and execution of Ground Ops/Ramp training programs for frontline and leadership staff.
  • Create and deliver Ground Ops/Ramp training for all station personnel and above.
  • Provide guidelines to stations to support on-time performance, service standards, baggage delivery, and process improvements.
  • Analyze station performance and training, ensuring action plans are implemented.
  • Assuming all cargo and baggage loading compliance responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company manuals and procedures.
  • Confirm that all cargo training requirements are met with the Mx training department.
  • Assess training effectiveness and provide guidance.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and long-term operational plans.
  • Creating and overseeing GSE training for EAL and EAX.
  • Achieve operational goals related to ground, cargo, and passenger performance, safety, service, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Eastern Commercial team on network changes and new station openings.
  • Oversee Service Provider responsibilities at both station and corporate levels, ensuring compliance with Eastern policies and assisting in correcting deficiencies.
  • Manage all ULD control, Inventory and AC Configurations.
  • Ensure accountability for airline vendor performance in local contracts (cargo and ground handling) and take corrective action as needed.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints and compliments promptly.
  • Assisting Charter Ops on coverage needs within limits.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Security or President/COO of EAL/EAX
D: Authorities:
  • Adjust and refine airport team procedures to comply with government and local airport regulations.
  • Stop any on-site operation that poses a safety hazard and consult with the Safety Department.
  • Establish and modify policies and procedures for:
    • Passenger handling
    • Cargo carriage
    • Station facilities
    • Ground personnel duties

4. Delegate authority to others while retaining overall responsibility.
