Work Location & Camp Life:
Enjoy your new work schedule of seven days on and seven days off, allowing you to maintain both a fulfilling career and meaningful personal time. Travel is straightforward: arrive at the start of your rotation and depart at the end. We especially welcome candidates who can manage independent travel to the JD Lodge near Goldrush Operations in Crescent Valley, NV.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Underground Development Shifter, the Underground Miner is responsible for the following:
• You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices and our core values throughout the organization
• Operate underground equipment (jumbo, bolter, scoop, haul truck, etc.) to safely and efficiently meet daily production and development targets.
• Perform drilling, loading, priming, and blasting activities according to engineered designs and company standards.
• Conduct pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on equipment, reporting any defects or issues to supervision.
• Visually inspect, scale, wash down, and paint the face; identify and address hazards such as bootlegs, miss holes, flags, and lifters.
• Assess ground conditions and install ground support as per the Ground Control Management Plan (GCMP).
• Prepare and advance development headings, including mucking, trucking, bolting, drilling, loading, and servicing.
• Place and remove blast guards and ensure compliance with all blasting procedures.
• Complete daily workplace inspections, equipment logs, and safety reports; communicate findings verbally and in writing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Support inventory control and assist with transporting supplies underground as needed.
• Lead by example in promoting a safe, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
• Mentor and support other team members to foster continuous improvement and development.
• You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.
• You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices and our core values throughout the organization
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must have at least eight (8) years of underground experience or more preferred
• Must have prior underground mining experience operating jumbos and bolters; Sandvik experience is preferred.
• Excellent safety, attendance and work records required
• Demonstrate initiative as a team member in a growing, fast-paced environment required
• Ability to communicate with all Mine Operations personnel required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision required
• Ability to read and understand equipment service manuals required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this position required
• Candidates residing more than 200 miles from Goldrush Operations may receive priority consideration subject to accommodation capacity.
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
