What you'll do
The Grinding Technician is responsible for safely and reliably operating grinding processes to support daily production goals. This role focuses on accurate execution of standard work, maintaining equipment performance, and identifying issues early to ensure consistent quality and throughput. As experience grows, the technician is expected to troubleshoot routine issues and contribute to operational stability.
• Perform grinding operations safely and accurately in accordance with standard work and safety protocols.
• Set up, operate, and monitor grinding equipment to meet quality and production requirements.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish meet specifications.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate routine equipment or process issues as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Document work, measurements, and issues so others can clearly understand status and handoffs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, safety, or efficiency.
What We're Looking For
• Significant experience, 8-10 years, in grinding operations
• Proficient operation of production equipment with strong attention to safety and quality.
• Ability to monitor processes, recognize abnormalities, and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of grinding processes, tooling, and measurement techniques (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly).
• Accurate interpretation of work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, machining, or technician role preferred.
• Ability to follow standard work, safety procedures, and quality requirements consistently.
• Comfortable working on the production floor and performing hands-on technical work.
Nice to Have
• Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
• Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environments.
