Senior Grid Systems Consultant (AspenTech / ADMS)
Dallas, TX (Hybrid) | Travel up to 50%
Duration: One Year Contract
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Grid Systems Consultant with strong experience implementing AspenTech Digital Grid Management (DGM) solutions within electric utility environments. This role supports grid modernization initiatives and advanced grid management systems that improve reliability, operational efficiency, and system resiliency.
This individual will play a key role throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), serving as both a technical lead and trusted advisor to utility clients on complex system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead functional and technical activities across all phases of large-scale AspenTech Digital Grid Management implementations
  • Act as a subject matter expert across AspenTech Monarch Platform and associated systems (OMS, ADMS, DMS, EMS, SCADA)
  • Facilitate client workshops to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements
  • Develop solution designs, workflows, configurations, and integration specifications
  • Lead testing strategy, execution, and defect management (including triage and resolution)
  • Oversee system integrations across utility platforms including SCADA, GIS, AMI, EMS, DERMS, and distribution automation systems
  • Drive system commissioning, UAT, cutover planning, and go-live execution
  • Analyze current utility operations and identify process improvements and optimization opportunities
  • Develop project plans, schedules, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting
  • Support software evaluation and vendor selection activities, including RFP development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, technical stakeholders, and leadership
  • Deliver client training, knowledge transfer, and post-deployment support
  • Troubleshoot complex system, integration, and production issues
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to delivery best practices
  • Support business development efforts including proposals and solution strategy
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in electric utilities, utility consulting, or grid technology implementation
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and integrating ADMS systems
  • Direct experience with AspenTech Digital Grid Management solutions, including Monarch Platform
  • Proven experience leading workstreams, project teams, or major deliverables
  • Strong understanding of utility operations and grid modernization initiatives
  • Experience gathering business, functional, and technical requirements
  • Hands-on involvement in testing, deployment, and production rollout activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
Ideal Background:
  • Prior consulting experience in utility or energy sector
  • Exposure to ADMS/OMS integrations in large-scale environments
  • Experience in client-facing implementation roles
