Job description

Sustainability Consultant
Conservice is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Solutions team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex and high-impact client portfolios, shape strategic sustainability initiatives, and contribute to the evolution of our service offerings. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in at least one area of sustainability performance for the real estate sector, with demonstrated experience in consulting, project leadership and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage high-value client accounts, including project planning and management, progress tracking, delivery oversight, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead the delivery of GRESB submissions, sustainability materiality assessments, framework alignments (e.g. TCFD, GRI), target setting, client policy development, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, CDP reporting and data analysis projects.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one area of sustainability (e.g. embodied carbon, GHG inventories, building efficiencies, water footprint analysis), providing advanced guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand client contracts through service expansion, renewals and multi-year agreements.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, service delivery personnel and internal teams to ensure consistency and quality in deliverables for cross-functional clients.
  • Oversee and resolve escalated client situations, ensuring proactive communication and issue prevention strategies.
  • Develop and refine sustainability service offerings based on emerging frameworks and client needs.
  • Continuously enhance internal processes and documentation, including through internal working groups, to align with evolving sustainability frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Deliver internal trainings and mentorship to consultants and analysts, fostering team growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Actively participate in blog writing, webinars, marketing initiatives and thought leadership efforts that promote Conservice's sustainability expertise.
  • Pursue advanced sustainability certifications or accreditations such as GRESB AP, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional or Certified Climate Change Professional to expand professional expertise and strengthen Conservice's market position.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sustainability consulting, ESG reporting or corporate sustainability strategy within the real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks such as GRESB, CDP, GRI, SASB and TCFD.
  • Proven ability to lead client projects and manage complex portfolios with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring team members and providing training on sustainability concepts and tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Sheets, experience analyzing sustainability performance data, and familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.

Employment Type
  • Full-time, exempt (salaried) position.
  • This position can be 100% remote or hybrid (Logan, UT, or Chicago), depending on applicant preference.
  • Travel to internal trainings and client meetings as needed, likely 1-5 times per year.
