The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for sales growth, market expansion, and go to market strategies for assigned distribution partners within the territory. This role will develop sales and regional distribution strategies along with marketing communication tactics to ensure execution of programs and market share growth.
Major Responsibilities
Conducts market research, analyzes territory opportunities and uncovers customer needs.
Identifies key decision makers and develops strategic relationships with them
Executes and improves on current processes
Tracks and reports on territory and key account metrics
Generates and develops new business.
Supports new product launches.
Creates solution-based sales strategies.
Conducts sales presentations and provides training on new programs and products.
Supports all Generac, DR, and Mean Green product categories.
Develops territory business plan to include strategic and tactical objectives and activities
Works cross function with sales, marketing, credit, and product management to support key accounts
Actively pursues and provides feedback on competitive positioning and influence in assigned territory
Supports all promotional programs
Acts as primary contact for customer contacts and facilitates identified issues.
Works with clients to develop sales and promotional programs to generate revenue.
Manages information to key internal personnel from customer systems.
Manages project resources to improve new sales opportunities or expand upon current accounts.
Manages product line reviews (PLRs).
Strengthens account relationships to grow sales of existing and new products.
Communicates routinely with the SR Director of Sales.
Facilitates routine communications between the account and supporting dealer network for installations and aftermarket services.
Keep updated on online product offerings and general content.
Oversees any issues with order management
Act as ERP/CRM Super User within functional area as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Finance or related field
Work Experience
5+ years related experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Effective negotiation skills with the ability to understand the complex sales process;
The analytical ability to understand key business metrics;
Extensive knowledge of sales, best practices, business processes, project management, and commercial systems;
Excellent sales, interpersonal, management, motivation and analytical skills;
Proven competitive analysis skills;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple audiences including top management;
Effective presentation skills;
Self- motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based role;
Ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions;
Willing to visit multiple locations daily;
Proven ability to implement process improvements within a matrix organization;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
Experience supporting key regional or national accounts
