Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Application Analyst to join our dynamic Business Applications Team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial systems, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of implementing and maintaining financial applications. This role will be responsible for overseeing the administration, enhancement, and support of finance-related applications to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business objectives.


  • Serve as the subject matter expert for finance-related applications, including ERP systems, financial planning and analysis tools, and other financial software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for system enhancements and new implementations.
  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of finance applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system procedures, user guides, and training materials.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for finance applications, addressing issues, and resolving user inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in finance and IT to recommend innovative solutions and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate, select, and implement new software solutions as needed.

Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:

  • The design, documentation, analysis, and testing of the applications, enhancements, processes, and reporting solutions, based on and related to user or system design specifications.

Location: Must be based in Plano, Texas. Hybrid remote schedule available. Travel as needed.


Education:     Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field; 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance application support, implementation, or administration.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, Newstar, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Experience with business process analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of SQL, scripting languages, and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
