Primary Purpose:

Promotes student learning and development within the fraternity and sorority life community. Position has direct responsibility for the expansion, leadership development, and administration of a strong fraternity and sorority community by working closely with 13 fraternities and sororities, advisors, national representatives, and 3 governing councils.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Serves as one of the primary advisors for Fraternity and Sorority Life.
2. Selects, hires, trains, supervises, and provides professional development/coaching for Graduate Assistant of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
3. Oversees programming sponsored by Fraternity/Sorority Life, chapters, and councils ranging from Membership Recruitment, New Member Education, Greek Council Officer Transition and Training, Greek Week, Leadership retreats, amongst others.
4. Works closely with service providers for student and university events (contract management, facilities, catering, transportation, IT, security, etc.). Serves as the primary coordinator for council trip logistics, including contract management, registrations, reservations, travel plans, and pre-trip meetings. Travels with students as necessary.
5. Advises the IFC, Panhellenic, MGC and NPHC governing councils.
6. Develops and executes learning outcomes and assessment plans for fraternity and sorority life initiatives. Monitors and supports chapter progress through the Greek Excellence Program.
7. Advises, directs, and monitors recruitment processes including informal and formal recruitment initiatives and MIP (Membership Intake Programs).
8. Serves as a representative of the Office of Campus Life and Student Engagement, in addition to university committees.
9. Encourages the creation of new Greek organizations; fosters the growth of existing organizations and provides resources and support to future student involvement in all organizations, in collaboration with Student Leadership and Civic Engagement (SLCE) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Office (DEIB).
10. Provides leadership on behalf of Campus Life and Student Engagement for major campus and/or community events sponsored by CLSE, or Student Affairs.
11. Supports and/or coordinates campus wide and traditional events as appropriate and ensures participation of fraternity and sorority chapters in applicable events.
12. Monitors a calendar of fraternity, sorority, and student organization events and meetings using established reservation policies, procedures, and guidelines.
13. Coordinates plan for growth and development of fraternity and sorority community including potential addition of chapters, programming, etc.
14. Acts as a liaison to other campus departments regarding Greek life issues and concerns. Serves as the primary resource on Greek organizational issues.
15. Works with Risk Management to assess the risk associated with social Greek lettered organizations.
16. Collaborates with Greek organization leaders to develop and implement leadership training and risk management.
17. Works with Title IX Office, and Disability Services involving members of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
18. Serves as the Chief Judicial Officer for conduct cases involving members of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
19. Maintains accurate membership and participation records.
20. Completes special projects as assigned.
21. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: 1. Two (2) to four (4) years of closely related experience.
2. Demonstrated experience with Fraternity and Sorority Life and community outreach on a college campus.
3. Collegiate club/organizational management.
4. Experience with advising and oversight of college aged students.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel/Counseling, or related field.
2. Undergraduate membership in a nationally recognized fraternity or sorority.
