Job description
Internal: Internal applicants will be considered within the first five (5) business days of the posting period.
External: External applicants will be considered on the sixth (6) business day of the posting period.
Regular hours will be Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm with additional evening or weekend availability required for department, division or university events.
- Provides supervision, leadership and comprehensive support to all Greek lettered organizations supporting the development, management, and sustainability of Greek Life in accordance to university priorities and student support. Evaluates, assesses, recommends, and implements success strategies for Greek Life at the University of the Pacific.
- Serves as the direct advisor to all social and professional Greek organizations, including attending meetings, and providing one-to-one advising, mentorship and professional development. Directly facilitate and lead each organization to define and meet chapter and university goals. Serves as the primary Greek Life contact for all national headquarters' offices and the outside community.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with academic units and their professional Greek student organizations, ensuring compliance with educational programming.
- Serves as the professional staff advisor to the Inter-Fraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, Panhellenic Council, and Professional Greek Council. Meets weekly with the councils and develops comprehensive direction and guidance on collaborations, promoting Greek Life at Pacific and enhancing developmental opportunities for each member and leader.
- Working with the unit's Business Manager, monitors and approves budget expenditures for chapters and councils ensuring fiscal accountability and adherence to all University policies.
- Working collaboratively and as directed by the AVP, assists in the planning, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of all Greek programs and related student engagement activities and initiatives. Supports other professional staff, programs, and events including participation of Greek Life in division and University events including but not limited to: Move-in, Week of Welcome, Homecoming, Greek Week, and Admitted Students Day.
- Manages all vendor contracts in the unit's area. Ensures vendor forms, contracts, and agreements are complete and provided to the Business Manager for submission into University Contracts system (Cobblestone). Ensures contracts are approved and signed prior to events.
- Under the direction of the AVP, assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of the University Greek Chapter Standards Program. Ensures that all chapter standards and regulations regarding chapter membership meet compliance standards.
- Assists in the development and oversees the implementation and execution of all Greek major programming including: Greek Informational, Greek Week, Council and Chapter President retreats and trainings, Greek Leadership Retreat and formal recruitment of new members including orientation, activities, workshops, new member qualification review and confirmation of new members.
- Responsible for identifying, recruiting, and training active faculty and alumni advisors who will protect the values and mission of the University while coaching and mentoring their respective Greek organization.
- Interprets, administers and ensures compliance with all University policies and procedures for the Greek Life program and makes recommended policy changes. Serves as the primary liaison between Greek Life and university departments.
- In collaboration with the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards, sets precedent and policies for Greek lettered organization operations including social event protocols, standards, and the Greek Life Review Board. This includes but is not limited to scheduling meetings, hearings and coordinating correspondence between students and staff to ensure proper adjudication of chapter violations and follow up on chapter sanctions.
- Serve as data steward for Greek Life. Processes and evaluates Greek Life academic, membership recruitment, enrollment, compliance trainings, and demographic data. Manage and update forms related to the daily operation of Greek Life; and manage information and files on membership and activities of chapters.
- Collaborates with Residential Life & Housing in planning and management of Greek residential facilities. Includes but is not limited to establishment of occupation expectations, communication between Greek Chapters and Residential Life and Housing and other related matters.
- Serves as Risk Management consultant to all Greek organizations and is the primary liaison between Student Involvement and the Department of Risk Management.
- Create a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where all voices can be heard. Demonstrate cultural competence and success in working with diverse student groups.
- Works collaboratively with department, division and university partners including ASUOP Advisors, Registered Student Organizations, Pacific Recreation, Residential Life and Housing, Equity programs, Student Conduct and Community Standards, Student Life and Academic Departments to support student retention.
- Coordinates, prepares and facilitates presentations for major University events geared toward recruiting, retaining and students' persistence to graduation.
- Under the direction of the area's Business Manager, manages new hire and payroll processes for student staff performing Greek life tasks and student activities, serving as supervisor, including review and approval of timesheets.
- Participates in Division of Student Life Events and Committees as requested and performs other related duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's Degree in social science field, leadership education, higher education administration, student personnel, or related discipline.
- Two (2) years of professional or graduate experience in student activities, fraternity and sorority affairs, leadership planning/development, or advising student groups in a higher education setting.
- One (1) year of experience in budget preparation and oversight, staff supervision and leadership initiatives.
- Master's Degree
- Three (3) years of professional experience in student activities, fraternity and sorority life, leadership planning/development, or advising student groups in a higher education setting.
- Membership in a Greek Letter organization.
Skills/Knowledge and Expertise:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the willingness to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations and as a team.

This is an in-person role, and the successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of the Stockton Pacific campus.
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment during standard business hours, with weekend and after-hours required to attend student, division and University events. Some travel may be required including to other campuses and attending relevant conferences or other professional development sessions.
