Senior Account Manager

Grede is searching for an experienced candidate for the position of Senior Account Manager.   

Job Summary:

The Senior Account Manager is the key face to the customer, they must build effective relationships with engineering, quality, purchasing, and plant personnel. They are expected to support all commercial aspects of customer relationship, such as RFQS quotes, contracts, and customer strategies. They may be responsible to review, analyze, and communicate technical information from and to product engineers to ensure that customer deliverables are met.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for management of all commercial activities with assigned accounts including generation of business, maintain current business, proactive issue resolution, pricing actions with logic, resolving AR/AP issues, improving service levels and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Self-starter: visit customers and use the opportunity to build relationship. Use the relationship to collect competitive information, current and future programs.
  • Ability to create account strategy and action plan based on information from customer and manufacturing sites.
  • RFQ processing:
    • Create pricing map based on existing business information.
    • Ability to analyze price quoted, value-sell, and receive new business at price higher than competitors
  • Project management skills – Ability to understand customer schedule and proactively follow both internally and externally for smooth launch.
  • Ability to gain in-depth understanding of existing business and create roadmap for protecting existing business, and identifying area(s) of growth.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills – Both internally and externally
  • Conduct contract reviews to verify accuracy of new/modified contracts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ability to work effectively and meet objectives without detailed day-to-day direction.
  • Must be highly organized and flexible to handle multiple priorities and clients.
  • Support customer concerns including Quality, Delivery, Sustainability, and other supplier scorecard metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to travel 15% of the time.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, detail oriented, organization and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality and discretion

Preferred Qualifications

  • All described in minimum qualifications. BS in engineering with automotive or commercial product experience, in a commercial role, negotiating issues such as pricing and project schedule.
  • Work experience dealing with global large tier accounts or OEM’s a plus.
  • Previous sales experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of both the local and international community is a plus for this role.

 

Required Education:

  • A BA or BS with discipline in Engineering, Business, Management or other related to automotive industry and or manufacturing, and with 5-10 yrs. of automotive or commercial product experience.
