Great Camps refer to a group of large, rustic yet luxurious summer homes and compounds built in the Adirondack Mountains of New York during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Originally constructed by wealthy families and industrialists as retreats, these camps were designed to blend with the natural surroundings using native materials like logs and stone. Many Great Camps are now preserved as historic sites or operate as resorts, offering a unique glimpse into the region's cultural and architectural history.
