Position Title:
Capital Project Engineer Checkout/ Controls
Pay Rate: PL 18
$137,400-183,200
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Category/Shift:
Salaried Full-Time
Physical Location:
Remote, significant travel required
The Job You Will Perform:
  • Work within Capital Execute Team reporting to Leader of the Construction, Checkout, and Commissioning Group.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the development and review of Control Narratives/Functional Descriptions
  • Work with the project team to create programming and graphics standards.
  • Review and Scope of project resources for major capital project in front end loading project process stages 1, 2, 3.
  • Review of Control System / Construction Checkout and Commission Estimated project costs in front end loading project process stages 1,2,3.
  • Work with project team to develop Front End Engineering Design for the control system portion of the project.
  • Ensure completeness of deliverable documentation for:
    • Control Narratives
    • Loop Sheets / Elementary Diagrams
    • Logic Diagrams
    • Functional Design Specifications
  • Technical lead for control system code and graphics
  • Coordinate software/hardware programming tests with System Integrators and project team.
  • Coordinate onsite integrated testing (iFAT)
  • Review/Approve Control System vendor/supplier selections for a project.
  • Act as Technical Lead and coordinator for the checkout of field devices to the control system

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:
  • Ability to work with project teams of diverse roles and skills
  • Process Control experience with pulp and paper process background
  • Ability to travel 70-85% of the time
  • Ability to work independently to complete project requirements
  • Experience with multiple control systems, PLC's, and field instrumentation.
