Job description

Job Summary

The Packaging Graphics Production Lead owns the end-to-end production, governance, and project management of packaging graphics across our Private Label brands and product lines. This role exists to eliminate fragmentation, reduce rework, and bring clarity and accountability to packaging file management, vendor execution, and redesign initiatives.

This person is the single point of ownership for print-ready packaging files — from redesign planning and DAM governance through factory submission, vendor coordination, and cost forecasting.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Packaging Production & File Ownership

  • Own final print-ready packaging files from approval through factory submission
  • Ensure accurate versioning, naming conventions, and archival within the DAM
  • Act as the system of record for what files are live, submitted, pending, or obsolete
  • Partner with Design to ensure files meet brand, compliance, and production requirements

Project Management (Rebrands, Redesigns & New Product Development)

  • Lead project management for packaging rebrands and line-wide redesigns
  • Maintain clear timelines, milestones, and status tracking across SKUs and brands
  • Proactively communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders
  • Ensure teams always know where we are in the process — no guessing or chasing

Vendor & Factory Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison with print vendors and factories
  • Lead calls with vendors to resolve issues such as:
  • Barcode failures
  • Print specification discrepancies
  • Color, plate, or file setup concerns
  • Ensure vendors are aligned to standards, timelines, and technical requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the central connector between:
  • Merchants
  • Product Compliance
  • Package Engineering (RAD)
  • Design & Brand teams
  • Compliance
  • Vendors
  • Translate requirements between teams to prevent misalignment or rework

Budget Ownership & Forecasting

  • Own and track packaging production budgets, including:
  • Plate costs
  • Capital expenses
  • Line-wide redesign costs
  • Forecast costs for rebrands and redesigns to support merchant and leadership planning
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through smarter production and vendor alignment

Process & Governance

  • Establish and enforce clear production workflows for packaging graphics
  • Define best practices for DAM usage, file handoff, and approvals
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks — and proactively fix them
Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Remote Work Qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
  • Legal residents of one of the following states: (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, or WY). H-1B Visa Sponsorship Not Available, W2 only.
Experience

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5–8+ years experience in packaging production, print production, or graphics operations
  • Strong knowledge of packaging print processes, specifications, and vendor workflows
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-SKU projects
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Merchants, Engineering, Compliance, and Design
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience owning or managing DAM systems
  • Budget management and cost forecasting experience
  • Familiarity with barcode requirements and packaging compliance standards
  • Experience in retail, CPG, or high-SKU environments
