Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented entry-level Graphic Designer with strong design and communication skills to join our marketing team. This role creates visual and written communications that translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences while supporting SDL's brand and mission.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design creative visual communications for print, digital media, web content, presentations, signage, exhibits, and other marketing materials while maintaining SDL brand standards
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to understand complex technologies and translate them into compelling visual and written content
  • Create graphics, illustrations, infographics, diagrams, and layouts that effectively communicate technical information
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop messaging, creative concepts, and communication strategies that support organizational goals
  • Manage multiple design and communication projects from concept through final delivery while meeting schedule and quality standards
  • Organize and maintain design assets, templates, and project files to support collaboration and brand consistency
  • Contribute creative ideas for campaigns and messaging that strengthen SDL's marketing efforts
  • Maintain SDL's visual identity by consistently applying brand standards across all communications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, illustration, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Relevant graphic design experience demonstrated through a professional or academic portfolio (applications without a portfolio will not be considered)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to create infographics and illustrations that communicate complex information clearly
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and navigate complex conversations with diplomacy
  • Ability to assess and meet deadlines, set individual priorities, and maintain flexibility when priorities shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong writing portfolio demonstrating marketing or technical communications
