Job description


Job Summary

The forklift driver is responsible for pulling orders of product from the warehouse and loading the product into trucks to be shipped to the customer. The forklift driver will also unload product from trucks to be stored in bays within the warehouse area. The forklift driver will verify all incoming/ outgoing product for accuracy, as well as bay and inventory accuracy. Employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, Code of Conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Able to support production floor through pickup and delivery of product
  • Able to properly stage orders and execute the stage of finished goods
  • Able to learn and understand SAP applications regarding inventory, production and shipments
  • Able to know and understand all shipping and receiving protocols and procedures
  • Maintain equipment and do all required safety checks and cleanings as required
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment inside and outside of the facility
  • Organize and maintain organization in all Warehouse areas
  • Able to climb in/out of the forklift on a frequent basis throughout the work shift. There is one step up/down into/out of the cab of the forklift
  • Able to walk throughout the warehouse areas; surfaces are mostly concrete
  • Able to perform pushing/pulling activities when performing work activities
  • Able to work in a high paced and multi-task environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing and able to perform all other duties that may be assigned

Required Skills

  • Prior experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, pulling and staging orders, loading trucks, transport documentation and inventory control
  • Ability to work all shifts and overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong computer skills

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of forklift experience within a manufacturing operation
