Work EnvironmentHospitals, clinics, healthcare marketing firmsMedical publishing, educational institutions, research
Employer & Industry UsageHealthcare organizations, advertising agenciesMedical publishers, educational publishers, research institutions

How does a graphic designer in healthcare typically collaborate with medical professionals and compliance teams?

Graphic Designers in healthcare often work closely with doctors, nurses, and medical administrators to accurately convey complex medical information in a clear and patient-friendly way. They also collaborate with compliance teams to ensure that all materials adhere to HIPAA regulations and other healthcare standards. This means that designers must be comfortable receiving and integrating feedback from non-designers and adapting their visuals to meet both clinical and legal requirements. Effective communication and adaptability are key in this collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a graphic designer in healthcare?

To thrive as a Graphic Designer in healthcare, you need a strong background in visual design, typography, and branding, typically supported by a relevant degree or certification in graphic design. Mastery of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with healthcare-specific guidelines or HIPAA compliance are often required. Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex medical information into accessible visuals are stand-out soft skills. These skills ensure clear, accurate, and engaging communication of healthcare information, which is crucial for patient education and organizational branding.

What does a graphic designer do in healthcare?

A Graphic Designer in the healthcare industry creates visual materials such as brochures, infographics, patient education materials, and digital assets to communicate important health information clearly and effectively. They work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that complex medical concepts are translated into easy-to-understand visuals. Their work helps improve patient engagement, support healthcare marketing efforts, and maintain brand consistency for hospitals, clinics, or healthcare organizations.

If you're passionate about great design, enjoy solving creative challenges, and want your work to make a real impact, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As our in-house designer, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining the visual identity of the QAD brand across all marketing channels.

Responsibilities include:

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, self-motivated, and takes pride in producing exceptional work.

Qualifications include:

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Excellent understanding of typography, layout, color, and branding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred (but not required):

  • Photography experience
  • Video editing or motion graphics
  • Product photography
  • Illustration
  • Experience with outdoor, hunting, or consumer product brands

What Success Looks Like

The person in this role will help create marketing that dealers are excited to share, packaging that stands out on retail shelves, and a consistent brand experience across everything QAD produces.

You'll have the opportunity to influence product launches, work on exciting new products, attend industry events, and see your designs used by hunters across North America.

Why Join QAD?

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid vacation
  • 9 paid holidays
  • Paid travel to the ATA Show and other industry events
  • Employee product discounts

  • Collaborative team environment

Salary

$40,000-60,000 annually (based on experience and portfolio)

How to Apply

Please submit:

  • Resume
  • Portfolio of your best work
  • Brief cover letter explaining why you're interested in joining QAD
