DESCRIPTION: The Blue Square Alliance Against Hate was founded in 2019 by Robert Kraft to stand up to Jewish hate and hate of all kinds. We uniquely reach unengaged, non-Jewish Americans, inspiring them to become allies through empathy-building national mass media, social advertising, and culturally relevant storytelling. We partner with and convene diverse leaders, organizations, and communities to build awareness and understanding, while our Command Center monitors the digital landscape 24/7 to understand where and how hate is spreading and conducts national research to inform our work.
SUMMARY:
The Digital Design Associate will play a key role in shaping the Alliance's visual identity across digital, print, and internal channels, with a primary focus on social media and website design. This role combines creativity, technical skill, and a strong understanding of platform-specific aesthetics to produce engaging, mission-driven content that builds awareness and inspires action.
The ideal candidate is a versatile designer who can bring ideas from concept through execution across a wide range of creative needs, including social media content, website assets, print materials, presentations and slide decks, and other internal- and external-facing designs. The role will also support video editing needs, including social-first video content, sizzle reels, and other video projects.
This individual thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, has strong attention to detail, and is passionate about using thoughtful design and visual storytelling to advance the Alliance's mission.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Digital Design & Content Creation
    1. Design visually compelling assets for FCAS's social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and website, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and campaign goals.
    2. Create graphics, animations, and layouts optimized for platform-specific formats and audience behaviors.
    3. Collaborate with content and community teams to translate messaging into impactful visual storytelling.
  2. Website & User Experience (UX) Support
    1. Support the design and maintenance of FCAS's website, including landing pages, campaign hubs, and interactive elements.
    2. Ensure designs are responsive, accessible, and aligned with user experience best practices.
    3. Partner with developers and digital leads to implement updates and enhancements.
  3. Offline & Cross-Channel Design
    1. Produce print and offline assets such as one pagers, sales collateral, and merchandise as needed.
    2. Adapt digital designs for use in presentations, reports, and other cross-functional materials.
    3. Maintain consistency across all touchpoints, reinforcing FCAS's visual identity.
  4. Collaboration & Innovation
    1. Work closely with internal teams (e.g., social, content, paid media) to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
    2. Stay current on design trends, platform updates, and emerging tools to continuously elevate creative output.
    3. Contribute to brainstorms and creative planning sessions with fresh ideas and design perspectives.
  5. Special projects and assignments as business dictates

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-4 years of experience in graphic design, digital media, or visual communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communication, advertising, or related discipline
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, Figma, and other design tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing social media graphics, web design, and print materials.
  • Understanding of platform-specific design best practices (e.g., TikTok, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Experience with basic video editing and animation tools is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Passion for social impact, visual storytelling, and audience engagement.
