General Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the subcontracting activities for construction projects to ensure compliance with legal requirements and Company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Assist with the preparation and closeout of subcontracts relating to construction projects to ensure compliance with Company policies as well as Federal and State requirements.

  • Support the process for documenting the execution of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises' (DBEs) commercially useful function requirements, DBE payment certifications, and the Company's good faith efforts to attain DBE goals during the Project Execution Phase (Post-award) to ensure compliance with Federal and State contract requirements.

  • Process subcontractor payments and client billings to ensure compliance with agreements and company procedures.

  • Document preliminary notices filed by and under each subcontractor and track lien releases from subcontractors, suppliers and union trust funds to ensure proper accounting practices are followed.

  • Review insurance and bonding certificates to ensure compliance with Company and Owner requirements.

  • Prepare subcontract progress pay estimates and coordinate the release of progress and retention payments in compliance with contract agreement.

  • Process and monitor Owner/Client required paperwork to ensure Company and subcontractor compliance.

  • Create and maintain accurate files for all agreements to ensure proper documentation is readily available.

  • Verify quantities and pricing on invoices to ensure agreement with contract documents.

  • Deliver accurate and timely information regarding "cleared for work" status of subcontractors to all field personnel to ensure proper execution of work.

Education

  • Bachelor degree or 2-4 years' experience required


Work Experience

  • 0-2 years' experience in the field or related area with bachelor's degree

  • 2-4 years' experience in the field or related area without bachelor's degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software quickly

  • Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate/convey information to all levels of employees, subcontractors, etc.

  • Ability to set priorities, organize work and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines

  • Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff as well as external customers

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Base Salary Range:

$52,677.00 - $79,014.00

Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
