Work Environment

The work setting is onsite at our advanced rehabilitation facility in Lynchburg, where you'll find a modern, welcoming environment designed to foster healing and recovery. You will be part of a dynamic team that includes two experienced physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA), all committed to creating a supportive and motivated atmosphere for both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and understand patient goals, needs, and limitations to create personalized care plans.
  • Manage a patient load of one individual per hour, providing dedicated, hands-on treatment sessions.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to provide effective physical therapy interventions for orthopedic conditions.
  • Encourage and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation process to enhance their recovery outcomes.
  • Design and implement tailored exercise programs focusing on movement efficiency, stability, and strength improvement.
  • Minimize reliance on pharmacological treatments by exploring and promoting non-surgical interventions.
  • Document treatment plans, patient progress, and outcomes meticulously in line with best practices and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to monitor treatment effectiveness and adapt plans as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary patient base comprises individuals with private medical insurance, often dealing with orthopedic issues requiring specialized outpatient care. You will be exposed to a diverse caseload, ranging from post-surgical rehabilitation to chronic pain management, affording you the opportunity to develop and enhance your clinical skills in a variety of scenarios. Your role will shape how patients perceive recovery, ensuring that they feel supported and empowered throughout their rehabilitation process.

Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a recognized program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia, with no disciplinary actions against your license.
  • Strong manual therapy skills and the ability to develop effective exercise regimens.
  • Experience with electronic medical records management, preferably WebPT, to facilitate seamless documentation and patient tracking.
  • Proven ability to create and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient assessment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in orthopedic outpatient care strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with various treatment modalities and rehabilitation techniques.
