Position Information Section: Bureau of Consumer Protection/Public Protection Division Class: Administrative Assistant I/II Location: Harrisburg Telework: This position will report to the headquartered location a minimum of 2 days per week. You may have the opportunity to telework the remainder of the week, if desired and based on business need. Position Type: Full-time, Non-civil service, Union Work Hours: 8:30 - 5:00 Salary Range: Administrative Assistant I: Starting salary of $46,827 Administrative Assistant II: Starting salary of $53,008 Basic Function This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative staff assignments for the Bureau of Consumer Protection with respect to registrations of individuals and businesses in certain industries to conduct business.

Assignments are carried out under the supervision of an Administrative Assistant Manager and the Assistant Director for Investigations and Mediation and work is reviewed through conferences, reports, and evaluation of results. Examples Of Duties Reviews and processes registration applications for home contractors, health clubs, and telemarketers Reviews and analyzes registration information for inconsistencies and compliance with laws Inputs registration information into appropriate databases Monitors registrations throughout course of application process and provides follow-up, as needed, by mail, phone, or email Maintains hard copy files of incoming registration applications Processes audits of home contractor registrations Monitors the Bureau's Registration Unit email accounts and responds to inquiries Provides assistance with hotline phone coverage, as needed Assists walk-in consumers with registration inquiries Processes right-to-know requests relating to registrations Performs related work as required Minimum Experience and Training Administrative Assistant I: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university OR Any equivalent combination of work experience and/or training Administrative Assistant II: One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university OR Any equivalent combination of work experience and/or training Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills Highly organized Detail-oriented Ability to prioritize and manage workload Ability to work efficiently through both team-based and independent approaches
