Job description

Job Summary The job is responsible for auditing a summary of each student's program and plan in anticipation of degree conferral; act as liaison between Student, Registrar's Office and Faculty Advisors to collect course substitutions, inform students of graduation status and ensure all workflow happens quickly and accurately; for programming, troubleshooting and maintaining electronic advisement audits; for diploma order, diploma cover order, collation and distribution (mailing) of diplomas; UG commencement program layout and submission; greeting students, answering questions and garnering correct diploma names at the graduation festival; diploma cover setup and distribution at graduation ceremony. Position will be responsible for creating and developing a new process and method to automate degree auditing, graduation approval and conferral using new tools including both Degreeworks and Banner, with a particular emphasis on maximizing the compatibility of both systems. Responsible for back-end transition of all processes related to graduation in Banner.

Responsible for streamlining all aspects of this position to maximize efficiency and assimilate tasks such as graduation application process, graduation packet organization, degree auditing, communications related to degree auditing, and graduation reporting. This position will supervise one Clerical Assistant 2, and will be responsible for training, managing and reviewing this employee. The primary reason for the existence of the position is both to serve the University by having a person dedicated to protecting the school against inaccuracy and to ensure (and, by extension, promote) the integrity of a KU degree and to ensure an individual is dedicated to being available to troubleshoot, create and maintain the electronic degree audits that are used campus-wide.

Further, the position exists to serve the students by both managing the graduation process (through auditing, conferral and diploma mailing) and by helping them to understand, navigate and properly complete the graduation process. The strategic outcome of this position is to ensure Kutztown University's undergraduate students' degree requirements are evaluated and that these students are, in turn, graduated with accuracy and in a timely manner. Further, to guarantee that degree audits are accurate and well-maintained.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Higher Ed experience Experience in an office environment Effective communication and writing skills. Analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Degreeworks Experience with Banner Experience with degree auditing Experience with complex systems Supervisory and training experience.

The starting salary for this position is $54,983.00, based on the SCUPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work, subject to applicable organizational policies, operational requirements, and supervisory approval
