Job description

The Homeland Sensors and Analytics Group builds technology to counter threats to our critical infrastructure, land and maritime borders, transportation systems, and public places, and to enable US forces to disrupt transnational criminal and terrorist organizations.  We focus on the development and fielding of advanced sensors, AI and data analytics, and integrated human-machine decision making to help monitor and characterize these threats.  We specialize in prototyping new sensor technologies as well as collecting and processing a wide range of data types - including radar, video, imagery, text, point cloud, transactional, and body-worn sensor data - from both commercial and Laboratory-developed sensors. We often apply advanced machine learning methods to convert raw data into actionable insights about the activities of threat actors, networks, or organizations.  Our ultimate goal is to field solutions that significantly enhance the decision-making process of analysts and operators who secure the homeland. 

Job Description

The Homeland Sensors and Analytics Group (45) develops novel technologies to detect and characterize threats for Homeland Security applications, and to provide decision support to operators and analysts. Group 45 is in need of a versatile software developer for several programs involving hardware, software, and real-time data analytics. The developer will be working with a small team to develop, test, and deploy software for operational use in the field. A strong background in C++, Python, software best practices, and willingness to adapt and learn are essential. In addition, strong communication skills and experience working with a team in rapid development cycles is required.

This is an onsite/hybrid position.  Candidates are expected to work on site in Lexington, MA for at least 60% of their working time.

Requirements
  • BS/MS in computer science, software, or computer engineering, or an equivalent field 
  • Prior employment experience with software application development (3-5+ years)
  • Proficiency with Python development, libraries, and envrionments
  • C/C++ experience
  • Strong software design and development skills with a focus on deployed real-world systems
  • Github/Gitlab and industry standard software development tools/environments
Desired Skills
  • CUDA / GPU Programming
  • Digital Signal Processing
  • Service oriented architecture or microservice architecture.
  • Message bus architectures or Pub/Sub messaging (e.g. kafka)

Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
