Job description

Education/Certification Required: 

  • High school graduate.  

Technology Proficiency: Level 2 Applied (use of)

  • Computer operations (i.e., IBM/Compatible-PC)
  • Software productivity tools (i.e., Microsoft Office)

Experience Required: 

  • Proven performance in position with similar responsibilities.

Function

Under the supervision of the Director for Student Support Services, will perform various duties including secretarial and clerical assistance supporting the administration of Student Support Services.  Will use good judgement in exercising these duties efficiently.  Assists the director in the process of interdistrict, intradistrict, and lottery transfers and the maintenance of internal records.  Exercises initiative in determining and completing tasks.  Assists in compiling reports, research, and other analytical duties as assigned.  This position is responsible for maintaining a control system of all transfer records.

Director for Student Support Services

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and processes interdistrict, intradistrict and lottery transfers.
  • Maintains and edits the transfer database systems.
  • Maintains the interdistrict transfer system for PEIMS reporting.
  • Coordinates the student selective computer lottery process and criteria.
  • Logs correspondence.
  • Compiles statistical reports as requested.
  • Processes notifications regarding interdistrict, intradistrict and lottery transfers.
  • Compiles and distributes transfer information for campus administrators.
  • Maintains, organizes, and archives transfer files.
  • Assists parents, students, school administrators, and the general public providing information and procedures.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Records interdistrict transfer tuition payments and forwards funds to the Office of Executive Director for Support Services.
  • Assists with the preparation and mailing of discipline certified communications regarding student removals.
  • Maintains an up-to-date file on office-related matters.
  • Assists with discipline system entries.
  • Assists with truancy entries and dockets.
  • Accesses the student system for reports and information.
  • Notarizes District business documents.
  • Serves as receptionist for the Office of Student Support Services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the director.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to receive information and/or instruction from internal/external customers through spoken expression.
  • Ability to manipulate tools/equipment/keyboards.
  • Ability to convey information and/or instruction to internal/external customers through spoken expression.
  • Ability to perform work while standing and/or walking for extended periods, up to eight (8) hours a day.
  • Ability to see detailed information, naturally or with correction.
