POSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Athletics

STATUS: Part time

DEPARTMENT: Athletics

DIVISION: Student Development

REPORTS TO: Nicholas LoFurno

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour

(Position is FWS Eligible)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with daily tasks involved in running the Athletic Department (copies, typing documents).

2. Assist with set up and take down all home athletic events.
3. Work admission gate and concession stand for home games.

4. Do basketball stats for home games
5. Volleyball line judges and ball shagging for home games.
6. Assist with soccer balls during all home games on sidelines.
7. Clean weight room equipment.
8. Help move equipment on turf area for rentals (soccer goals, mounds).

9. Cover external rentals during the week and weekends

10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
11. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours in fall/spring semester.

2. GPA of 2.0 or higher.
3. High school graduate.

4. Must be able to run, bend, lift (50 lbs) without any restrictions.
5. Must have flexible hours (days, nights, and weekends).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Knowledge of Microsoft computer programs.

2. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Normal office physical demands as well as being able to run/jog, bend and lift (50 lbs) without any restrictions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office conditions and indoor/outdoor athletic court/field conditions.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
