What is a graduate sales engineer?

A Graduate Sales Engineer is an entry-level professional who combines technical engineering knowledge with sales skills to provide solutions to customers and promote products or services. They typically work for engineering or technology companies, acting as a bridge between the technical team and clients. Their responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, demonstrating product capabilities, and assisting in the sales process. Graduate Sales Engineers often receive training and mentorship to develop both their technical expertise and sales abilities.

In their first year, a Graduate Sales Engineer is often involved in supporting senior sales engineers by preparing technical presentations, assisting with customer needs assessments, and creating proposals. They may also collaborate with engineering and product teams to gain a deep understanding of products and solutions, and accompany more experienced colleagues on client meetings to observe sales processes.
