Job description

This job requires relocation.

Description

The Medical Surgical Telemetry Pediatrics department at Christus Spohn Alice has a daily average census of approximately 25 patients.  We often see patients with CHF, Pneumonia, Skin Abscess, Chest Pain, COPD, Diabetes, Appendicitis, Cholecystectomy, EGD's, Colonoscopy, Pediatrics with Asthma, Bronchitis, Viral Syndrome, and Pneumonia.  Our associates feel very proud to work in this department. Med Surg Tele Peds is a unit in which you can develop all of your nursing skills and train to float to other units if desired. MSP requires hard work and critical thinking skills due to range in age of patients and disease processes involved.  We are a group of highly skilled nurses that are willing to teach and grow our own nurses to the fullest potential.  

Summary:

Provides nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed professional. 

Responsibilities:

Provides primary care to a designated group of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Assists in the collection of patient data used to determine nursing needs of the patient. Works with other disciplines to ensure a Collaborative approach to the care of the patient.

Requirements:

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing.

Experience

  • Will accept a new graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Current Texas State LVN license. 
  • CPR - (American Heart Association)
