Job description

Interior Designer | Full-Time

Weston, WI | Mondayโ€“Friday | 8:30โ€“4:30

This is design done differently.

Remodeling Journey is looking for a full-time Interior Designer to join our growing design team.

Weโ€™re a residential design and remodeling company serving Central and Northern Wisconsin. We take projects from the first design conversation through the completed remodel, giving our designers the opportunity to create spaces they can actually see come to life.

This role is heavily focused on the front end of the remodeling process. Youโ€™ll work directly with homeowners to understand how they live, develop their vision, create layouts and 3D renderings, and guide them through the selections that bring the entire project together.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Lead client design consultations and help develop their vision
  • Space plan and develop thoughtful, functional layouts
  • Create 3D renderings and immersive VR walkthroughs
  • Select and source cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing, lighting, hardware, paint, and finishes
  • Build cohesive material and color palettes
  • Present design concepts and confidently guide clients through decisions
  • Prepare organized design plans and documentation for each project
  • Communicate with vendors and source products and materials
  • Collaborate with our project managers and trade partners as designs move into construction
  • Stay current on new products, materials, and design trends

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related design field required
  • Residential interior design or remodeling experience is preferred, but not required
  • Strong eye for color, proportion, materials, and overall design
  • Strong space planning skills
  • Experience with design rendering software is preferred
  • Comfortable meeting with clients, presenting ideas, and guiding design decisions
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects at different stages
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Someone who is curious, creative, motivated, and excited to continue growing as a designer

Compensation + Benefits

$50,000โ€“$65,000 base salary$30,000+ bonus potential

  • Plus:3 weeks paid time off
  • Health, dental & chiropractic care options
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Company phone
  • Gas card

Who We Are

Remodeling Journey is a high-end residential remodeling company based in Weston, Wisconsin, with a second location opening in Minocqua.

Design is a huge part of what we do. Our clients can see their spaces through detailed 3D renderings and even walk through them in VR before construction begins. Our designers get to know the families behind the projects and create spaces around how they actually live.

Whether youโ€™re a recent graduate ready to start your career or an experienced designer looking for something different, weโ€™re interested in finding the right person, not just the right rรฉsumรฉ.
