Job Description:

Join L3Harris Communication Systems as a Lead Network Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in designing and integrating advanced RF and networking solutions that enable mission-critical communications around the world.

In this role, you'll join our Network Engineering team, helping to shape advanced networked communication systems for our customers and helping support our proprietary platforms that model, test, and validate the performance of our cutting-edge tactical communication systems. You'll work hands-on with both RF and networking technologies, bridging the gap between hardware and system-level design, while collaborating with diverse engineering teams across the organization.

This is an opportunity to lead technical initiatives, influence architecture decisions, and see your work directly impact systems used in the most demanding operational environments.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead networking system designs for next-generation communication products and systems.
  • Troubleshoot at both RF and system levels, supporting integration across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers, program managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings for leadership and customers.
  • Drive continuous improvement, applying lessons learned from programs to future designs.
  • Oversee product development technical activities and system integration activities to ensure designs are technically sound and meet system level requirements.
  • Collaborate with other design, test, manufacturing, product service, program and product management teams, providing responsive services as part of the Netsim Team.
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
  • Travel domestic and internationally approximately 25%

Technical Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of LAN routing/switching protocols and standards
  • Operational experience in Linux Operating Systems
  • Operational experience in Windows/Windows Server Operating Systems
  • RF and System Level Troubleshooting
  • Basic mechanical and soldering skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or another STEM discipline and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in networking.
  • Experience in Enterprise Networking and Applications Deployment
  • Experience in RF troubleshooting and system-level integration.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Cisco CCNA or greater certification
  • Experience with Enterprise network services and hardware design
  • Operational experience with Active Directory, DNS, Exchange, SharePoint, etc
  • LAN routing/switching protocols and standards.
  • Experience in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Operation experience with military radio systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks.
  • Proven team leadership skills, providing the technical voice for a project, program, or pursuit.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team and act as customer interface for technical aspects.
  • Active US DoD Secret Clearance or Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret Clearance

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $110,500 - $205,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
