Job description
This position provides opportunities to further develop a creative and innovative music therapy program with unique access to clinical, research, and community partners, enhancing student and faculty experiences. Our relationship with both urban and rural communities provide a wide range of opportunities in a unique learning environment creating fertile territory for pedagogical advances and contributions to the field.
This program is approved and accredited by the National Association of School Music (NASM) and the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) providing students with skills necessary to practice as music therapists with curriculums also involving modern music technologies.
In accordance with accreditation standards, primary responsibilities include:
- Supervision of clinical placements, practicums, and internships
- Teaching coursework within the Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy degree
- Developing relationship with potential clinical sites and supervisors
The candidate must comply with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines, etc. including requirements for board certification and licensure, as appropriate: adhere to AMTA Standards of Clinical Practice and Code of Ethics; and engage in on-going clinical supervision and continuing education opportunities consistent with professional standards.
