Graduate Assistant Pool

POSITION

The Department of Public Health at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Graduate Assistant Pool.

We welcome applications from current CSUF graduate students to assist with teaching, research, and/or program planning and coordination.

This is a pool of part-time graduate assistants for the department to draw on as necessary.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students
  • Ability to build strong and positive relationships with students.
  • Maturity, respect for students, and ability to listen with patience and have an open mind.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative graduate grade point average of 3.0.
  • Must be currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health graduate program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preference will be given to those with relevant performance and professional experience.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience with students.
  • Previous research experience.
  • Data analysis and presentation skills.
  • Spanish language or translation ability.

COMPENSATION

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $3,245 to $6,072 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $4,800 per month

The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
