Job description

UR Thompson Gastroenterology clinic is looking for a nurse with advanced clinical skills to join our team. Schedule: Full time, M-F 8am-4:30pm, working out of the Marilyn Sands Outpatient Clinic at the Hospital.

Main Function:
  • Responsible for telephone triage and patient education
  • Provides quality patient care under the guidance of the providers
  • Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care
  • Assist the providers with scheduling patient procedures, patient clearance, and pre and post procedure education

Job Specific Competencies:
  • Skill in provision of care to patients of the Gastroenterology
  • Ability to collect, document and access data in the electronic medical record
  • Telephone triage

Qualifications:
  • Current NYS RN license required
  • Current Infection Control Certificate required
  • BLS certification required

Education:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing required

Experience:
  • Three years of recent nursing experience required
  • Physician office nursing experience and triage experience preferred
  • Gastroenterology experience preferred
