Flynn Brothers Contracting has been in business since 1973 and is one of the region's largest site, utility, and green construction companies. In 2004, Flynn Brothers Contracting became an Employee-Owned Company (ESOP). We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operator's for our Site Division. Interested in a career at Flynn Brothers?
Position Description
• Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, backhoes, etc.
• Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping, and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating, and stockpiling.
• Utilize GPS systems, read and understand grade stakes and hubs for grade control and finishing
• Perform daily routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment
• Be aware of other equipment working on the project and coordinate to work with the other equipment
• Safely and productively operate equipment on public roadways while maintaining proper awareness of surroundings and adapting to changing environment including traffic, soil conditions and weather.
Position Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy highway construction as an operator
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems
• Read & Understand plans, drawings, and engineering specifications
• Knowledge and understanding of safety procedures in the workplace
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
• Ability to occasionally lift and move more than 50 pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
