Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 / year
Description
APD seeks a passionate professional with experience owning projects from beginning to end and collaborating with team members of varying disciplines and experience levels. The position offers involvement in all project phases and professional advancement in a team-oriented, dynamic culture. In this position, the candidate will work directly with Project Managers, Architects, and other Site/Civil engineers to assist in developing construction documents for various projects in multi-site markets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret surveys and engineering reports (geotechnical, environmental, wetlands, traffic, etc.) for use in site design.
  • Heavy ACAD usage to prepare concept site plans and site plan sets (erosion control, demolition, site layout, grading, storm drainage, utilities, landscaping, lighting, and details)
  • Stormwater design and permitting in multiple states.
  • Zoning code reviews.
  • Municipal and agency permitting and attendance of meetings.
  • Coordination with utility companies and review of design.
  • Some travel for meetings, site observations, etc.
  • Sign/seal all project documents.
  • Mentor less experienced staff, including quality control of their work.
  • Client interaction.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed PE.
  • Experience with technical software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Possess the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Attention to detail and completeness.
  • Experience delegating tasks and reviewing the work of others.
  • Prior client interaction.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience with site design and stormwater.
  • Multi-site project experience, including retail, QSR, etc.
  • Prior project management experience.
