Human Resources Assistant

The primary role of the Human Resources Assistant is the day-to-day administration of company policies and procedures for recruiting, onboarding, employee files and databases, benefits, personnel policies, and safety programs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Welcome new employees to the organization by meeting for onboarding paperwork, sending offer letters out, and conducting new hire orientation.
  • Keep employee records up to date in HRIS by processing employee changes promptly.
  • Maintain hard-copy and electronic personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Answer employee questions and address employee concerns.
  • Distribute performance reviews and ensure company compensation policies and grading structure are being followed.
  • Responsible for I-9 file maintenance and compliance.
  • Complete employment verifications & inquiries.
  • Manage tuition reimbursement process.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and represent Goodwill in appeal hearings.
  • Compile required HR reports.
  • Assist agency recruiting functions to include job postings, screening applicants, assisting managers through the hiring process, managing pre-employment processes, posting internal openings, attending job fairs, and interviewing as requested.
  • Crosstrain into other areas of HR to serve as a backup for other Human Resource Team Members.
  • Meet or exceed attendance expectations for this position
  • Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of employees, customers, and participants.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
