Job description

This is a 1-2 days per week in office hybrid position based out of our Boston Office

Gradient AI:

Gradient AI is revolutionizing Group Health and P&C insurance with AI-powered solutions that help insurers predict risk more accurately, improve profitability, and automate underwriting and claims. Our SaaS platform taps into one of the industry's largest data lakes—tens of millions of policies and claims—to deliver deep, actionable insights. Trusted by leading carriers, MGAs, TPAs, and self-insured employers, Gradient AI has grown rapidly since our founding in 2018. Backed by $56M in Series C funding, we're scaling fast—and it's an exciting time to join the team.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior People Operations Generalist to join Gradient AI's People team. You will own the day to day operations that keep our people function running, from onboarding and compliance to engagement and reporting. This is a hands on role that requires someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working across a fast moving organization.

How you will make an impact:

HR Operations & Compliance
  • Own onboarding and offboarding end to end, including HRIS administration, I9s, system changes, and exit interviews
  • Ensure compliance across all states including EEOC reporting, anti-harassment training, and leave of absence management
  • Support payroll administration in partnership with Finance
  • Manage employee data changes including location updates, role changes, and visa inquiries
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefits administration and partner with employees and vendors to resolve open items
People Programs & Engagement
  • Manage engagement and pulse surveys including setup, tracking, and reporting
  • Facilitate employee resource group meetings and recognition programs
  • Support performance review cycles and new hire and manager meetings including content development and running trainings
Reporting & Systems
  • Maintain accurate and up to date HR systems and materials
  • Report out monthly and quarterly HR and recruiting metrics
Recruiting
  • Support recruiting for open roles during busy periods
  • Support employer branding initiatives

Skills needed to succeed:

  • 5+ years of HR or People Operations experience, ideally at a startup or high growth company
  • Multi-state compliance experience is required, including knowledge of benefits administration, payroll reconciliation, and managing leave of absences
  • Strong experience managing employee engagement programs, including new hire and manager trainings
  • Demonstrated ability to track, analyze, and report on HR metrics to identify trends, inform leadership decisions, and drive a data focused people strategy
  • Experience with recruiting and managing a HRIS system implementation is a plus
  • Highly organized with a collaborative, people-first approach

What We Offer:

  • A fun, team-oriented startup culture.
  • Generous stock options - we all get to own a piece of what we're building.
  • Unlimited vacation days.
  • Flexible schedule that supports working from home.
  • Full benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid paternal leave, and more.
  • Ample opportunities to learn and take on new responsibilities.

We are an equal opportunity employer.

Salary Range: $110,000-125,000 base salary annually.
This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity grant, and a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law, we are providing a good-faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as well as their experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Compensation may grow over time through merit-based increases, promotions, and company-wide adjustments. If your salary expectations fall outside this range, we still encourage you to apply so we can have a conversation.
