This posting if for the School Safety Officer position, which will start on January 11,2027.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old to apply (ARMED POSITION).
Must successfully pass the Pinellas County Sheriff?s Office Guardian/School Safety Officer training course.
Must be proficient with firearms and pass the firearms qualification course and subsequent annual qualifications.
Must be physically fit and able to performs all job functions.
Must wear all safety equipment and gear, to include ballistic vest, uniform, gun belt with firearm, ammunition, handcuffs, radio, and all other required equipment.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver?s License
Must be able to travel to schools within Pinellas County as needed for assignments.
Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.

NOTE: Employee will be hired at Pay Grade D10 ($19.7928) during the required training period. Applicants will be required to work a flexible schedule while attending the Guardian/School Safety Officer training course, sometimes working day shift (8am-4pm) and sometimes working evening shift (4pm-12am). The training is tentatively scheduled for January 11,2027 ? February 8,2027. When the required training is completed, the employee will be placed on the appropriate Pay Grade. Previous applicable experience may be considered upon completion of training course.
