Position Summary:
Part Time
Shift 8:30am - 5:00pm with 3 days during the week (flexible) and also Saturdays
OR
Full Time
Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm (Sunday - Thursday)
Compensation: $14.50-$16.50 per hour - Based on experience
Plan and provide activities for residents in long term care and/or assisted living areas. Life enrichment services are geared to stimulate residents and promote or maintain independence and increase self-esteem. Activities include physical, intellectual, creative, social, spiritual, and service/volunteering opportunities.
Job Duties:
  • Oversee, plan, and carry out activity programming and special events for residents living in area/unit(s) of responsibility (includes holiday decorating and party planning, and program-related communication through bulletin boards, etc.).
  • Work with and communicate with the other LECs when planning and implementing programs and developing monthly calendars.
  • Communicate to residents and staff, plans for activities by submitting food and set-up requests, developing descriptions about upcoming activities/events for the calendar and by creating flyers as appropriate.
  • Proficient in managing time and priorities. Able to keep self organized, and be able to communicate performance on goals and deadlines with manager.
  • Comfortable in leading and implementing large group activities.
  • Responsible for assessing residents' activity needs and interests on the assigned area/unit, and implementing those into the plans and calendar. Adapting as residents' preferences change.
  • Help maintain outdoor spaces as appropriate for resident activity.
  • Complete all resident assessments and documentation according to governmental and facility guidelines.
  • Responsible for welcoming and on-boarding new employees.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma. Experience with older adults preferred. Experience supervising others. Time management, excellent communications, public speaking, and teaching skills.
Minimum Experience: Prefer one year experience working in activity programming in health care setting. The ability to pass a drug test, including testing for marijuana.
