Job description

The Corporate Engagement Specialist supports GraceWorks Ministries’ goals, values, and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, commitment, and accountability.  As a member of the GraceWorks Ministries’ team, the performance expectations include demonstrating the following accountabilities: communication, teamwork, and job knowledge. As a representative of GraceWorks Ministries and our mission, the Corporate Engagement Specialist must honor in word, deed, and attitude behaviors that align with a Christian faith-based organization. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Corporate Engagement Specialist manages and grows a portfolio of approximately 100 existing, prospective, and lapsed businesses. This position is expected to actively steward business partners through developing personal relationships, personalized communications, inviting them to support the programs and events of GraceWorks, and thanking those who donate, participate, and volunteer. This business channel leader must meet the annual fundraising, activity, and other goals as assigned by the Director of Development.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  1. Fundraising (75% of focus): Primary responsibility for the achievement of the annual financial operating budget, additional non-cash objectives for in-kind giving and capital development objectives within the Business channel. Serve as the leader in soliciting sponsorships from local businesses for fundraising events and appeals. Maintains annual acquisition, retention, and growth goals as set by the Director of Development. Develop trusted relationships with current and new businesses with the goal of deepening their connection to the ministry while also encouraging their stewardship and giving.  

  1. Activities and Team Support (10% of focus): Hosts engaging tours, presentations, in-kind donation drives, and on behalf of  GraceWorks with business leaders, corporate groups and potential corporate leads. Represent GraceWorks at corporate events, Chamber of Commerce, and public events. Support GraceWorks Fundraising Events in participation, planning, and execution by engaging businesses to register and sponsorships for the Turkey Trot, Golf tournament, purchase Dinner tables/tickets, and participate in the Manger and other GraceWorks events. Works with the Director of Development and Event Manager to create sponsorship menus for each event and custom sponsorship and engagement packages for business partners. Tracks sponsorship targets, pledges, and gifts for each event using the current database. Provide help as requested by the Event Manager for the month, week, and day of events. 

  1. Administrative (10% of focus): Develop and maintain current records of prospective business donors, utilizing Moves Management or similar methodology for the cultivation and growth of each business prospect. Maintain records of each contact, pledges, tasks/activities, and in-kind donations in the current database. Present data to inform the Director of Development of progress.  

  1. Strategic Planning Support (5% of focus): Collaborate with the Director of Development to achieve the Development departmental objectives outlined in the board-approved Strategic Plan in the area fundraising appeals, events, donor acquisition, business channel donor-centric communications. Propose new strategies or changes to existing strategies that would enhance growth, ROI, or audience reach and engagement.  

  1. Project Management: Manage business channel Development-related projects as assigned by Director of Development that require Marketing deliverables including but not limited to: 

  1. Fundraising Events: gather content, concept and distribution plan for sponsorship menus, invitations, digital awareness (social media, emails, etc.), landing pages, printed collateral (programs, table items, swag, turkey trot shirts). Work with in-house or contracted designers to execute on schedule. 

  1. Fundraising Appeals: work with Director of Marketing to develop Business Channel Donor-Centric Communication collateral, Business Partnership Menu, Custom Sponsorship/Partnership Package Templates, PowerPoint presentations, and any other branded items to educate and steward donors.   

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new donor databases. 

  • Proficiency with SalesForce 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a transferable skill set such as communications, marketing, business, public relations, or another related field;  

  • Five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, customer services, sales, community outreach, or other solicitation-related fields;  

  • History of reaching increased goals in these fields 

OTHER SKILLS 

Belief in the mission of GraceWorks Ministries, strong interpersonal skills, ability to strategize with many people, creative thinking, confidence to solicit, public speaking, collaborative nature, self-starter, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent time-management skills, a strong sense of initiative, ability to work under pressure on multiple projects, ability to work individually and with a team, and highly developed organizational, planning, oral and written communication skills. Ability to put donors’ passions, interests, and timing above personal fundraising goals. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts that require standard safety precautions including sitting for long periods of time. Occasional lifting of items over 20 lbs is required.Â
