Account Manager (Illinois)

Citylogix

Chicago, IL • On-site

Full-time

Job description

About Citylogix
Citylogix is redefining how cities manage infrastructure.
We are an AI-driven platform built for public works teams who need to do more with less. Backed by CRH Ventures, the investment arm of the world's largest road builder, we already serve 450+ municipalities across the U.S. and Canada... and we're just getting started. Most asset management systems store data. Citylogix turns it into decisions.
Our platform continuously monitors, analyzes, and prioritizes infrastructure across the entire right-of-way... roads, sidewalks, ADA ramps, signs, pavement markings, and more. Instead of outdated snapshots, cities get a living, real-time understanding of their network and what to fix next. That starts with how data is collected.
Our LiDAR scanning captures high-resolution condition data across entire road networks. With Patrol, our AI-powered mobile app, cities extend that coverage daily... passively collecting intelligence from vehicles already on the road. The result is a system that gets smarter over time, not obsolete the moment it's delivered. That intelligence doesn't sit in a dashboard.
It flows directly into capital planning and work order execution... connecting AI-detected issues to budget justification to field crews doing the work. No spreadsheets. No silos. One platform, end-to-end.
No one else owns this full workflow.
We do.
Why this matters for you
We're not selling another piece of software... we're helping cities shift from reactive spending to proactive infrastructure management. That's a massive, underserved market with long-term contracts, real budgets, and clear ROI.
You'll be selling:
  • A product that solves a visible, everyday problem (every city has bad roads)
  • Into a defined buyer (public works, engineering, DOT)
  • With real differentiation (not just another scanner or dashboard)

And you'll be doing it at a company that is early enough to matter... but established enough to win!
About the role
Illinois has over 1,200 municipalities and thousands of miles of aging infrastructure. Most are under-resourced, over-budgeted, and in need of smarter asset management solutions. This is a greenfield territory with significant upside and you will be the face of Citylogix in the Prairie State.
But this role is not just about new logos. Citylogix's strategic direction is full Enterprise Asset Management, so expanding accounts from pavement-only into sidewalks, ADA, signs, ROW assets, and multi-year platform agreements. The right candidate is as comfortable growing an existing account as closing a new one, and understands how to navigate a multi-stakeholder deal across a Public Works Director, City Engineer, and Finance Director.
What you'll do
Territory Ownership & Business Development
  • Identify, prospect, and close new municipal and government agency clients across your territory through outbound prospecting and relationship-building.
  • Develop and execute a territory sales strategy, including pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning.
  • Own the full account lifecycle: close new logos and expand them. From a pavement scan into sidewalks, ADA, EAM platform, and multi-year agreements.

Procurement & Market Navigation
  • Develop deep expertise in municipal procurement processes - RFP cycles, cooperative purchasing vehicles, and public-sector budget cycles.
  • Understand the political and operational dynamics within local government to position Citylogix effectively.

Product Expertise & Client Demos
  • Master the full Citylogix platform from LiDAR data collection and digital twin to EAM, capital planning, and work order management. Work with Sales Engineer to deliver tailored demos that speak to each stakeholder's priorities: operational credibility for the Public Works Director, methodology for the City Engineer, and cost-avoidance ROI for Finance.
  • Translate complex technology into clear, ROI-driven value propositions for non-technical audiences.

Market Presence & Brand Representation
  • Attend Illinois municipal conferences (ILCMA, IAMMA, ICMA-IL), manage the company booth, and represent Citylogix as a thought leader in the infrastructure and govtech space.
  • Occasionally present or speak on topics relevant to Citylogix and smart city infrastructure.

CRM & Reporting
  • Maintain a clean and up-to-date Salesforce CRM database with accurate pipeline data.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts and territory reports for leadership.

Team Collaboration
  • Share field intelligence and market feedback to support product and marketing decisions.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and mentor peers when opportunities arise.

Qualifications
Required
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience in enterprise software or SaaS, with demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder, multi-year deals, not just transactional sales.
  • Proven track record of hitting or exceeding quota and building a book of business from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of the municipal public sector...how decisions are made, procurement processes, and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills... you can simplify complex technology for any audience.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate independently in a remote, field-based role.
  • Salesforce CRM proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, urban planning, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred
  • Experience in GovTech, infrastructure technology, pavement management, utilities, GIS, or asset management.
  • Existing network within the Illinois municipal government community; Public Works Directors, City Engineers, City Managers, or DOT contacts.
  • Familiarity with cooperative purchasing programs (e.g., Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners).

Why Citylogix
Competitive Compensation
Base salary plus uncapped commission. Strong performers earn well above target...this is a real earning opportunity for closers.
Greenfield Territory
Your territory is yours to build. No inherited account list...just a large, underserved market and the freedom to develop it your way.
Category-Leading Product
Sell a product that genuinely works and that clients love. Citylogix wins on product quality, ease of use, and demonstrable outcomes.
Strategic Backing
In January 2026, CRH Ventures - the investment arm of CRH, the world's largest building materials and road construction company - invested in Citylogix. This means the #1 player in the Global Asphalt market made a bet on Citylogix as the top company in the space...No competitor can replicate that claim.
Flexibility & Autonomy
Remote-first with field travel. We care about results, not how you structure your day.
Mission That Matters
Safe sidewalks. ADA-accessible ramps. Smarter roads. Your work helps cities make better decisions for real people every day.
How to Apply
If you are a driven sales professional who understands government and wants to sell technology that genuinely improves cities, we want to hear from you. Please apply directly to this job post.
