$5,000 sign-on bonusJob SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing process development and production support for MXS product lines. This role is responsible for assembly sequencing, work instructions, ERP routing structures, manufacturing readiness, first article activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position develops standardized, scalable manufacturing processes that ensure quality, safety, and operational performance across MXS product lines.
The Manufacturing Engineer partners closely with Design Engineering to support design-for-manufacturing efforts and ensure products are efficiently and safely transitioned into production. This role also serves as the technical resource for fabrication and welding engineering activities by developing welding processes, ensuring compliance with applicable welding standards, and driving continuous improvement across welded assemblies.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, work instructions, and assembly sequences.
- Lead ERP routing configuration and validation for assigned product lines.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to support manufacturable product designs.
- Lead manufacturing readiness activities, first article builds, and process validation.
- Provide technical expertise for production issues, process improvements, and shop floor escalations.
- Maintain manufacturing documentation revision control and process updates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, and production flow.
- Assist with tooling, fixture, and staging process development.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation aligns with current production practices and quality standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams during first builds, process validation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Develop, qualify, implement, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), weld maps, and related welding documentation.
- Establish and maintain compliance with applicable AWS, ASME, customer, and internal welding standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for welding and fabrication processes, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for welding-related quality issues.
- Evaluate weld designs, joint configurations, materials, and fabrication methods to improve manufacturability, quality, and production efficiency.
- Support welder qualification activities and evaluate welding equipment, consumables, fixtures, and automation opportunities.
- Partner with Quality Assurance on inspection planning, nonconformance investigations, and critical-to-quality weld characteristics.
QualificationsWork Experience- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred.
- Experience in fabricated metal, structural steel, modular construction, industrial equipment, or related manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting complex assemblies, welded fabrications, or skid-mounted systems preferred.
- Experience developing manufacturing work instructions and ERP routings.
- Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing readiness.
- Experience developing or supporting WPSs, PQRs, and welding process documentation preferred.
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Preferred Skills- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production flow.
- Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Strong understanding of structural fabrication and welding processes.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of AWS welding standards, WPS/PQR documentation, and weld quality requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and welding-related production issues.
- Familiarity with welding automation, robotics, fixtures, and advanced fabrication technologies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
