Job description

Overview
The Material Handler assists in the day to day operations of receiving, shipping and inventory data entry for Dean/Fluor and government procured materials and equipment. The material handler will work under direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. This position will support a government warehouse located in Bluffdale, UT. The Material Handler is responsible for utilizing knowledge of Operations, Maintenance, and Repair industry tools and materials to perform logistics tasks such as receiving, inventorying, storing, and issuing materials, equipment, and other items from the Dean/Fluor warehouse and from suppliers. The Material Handler has a solid understanding of the Dean/Fluor Logistics processes and procedures, implements attention to detail in following logistics procedures and record-keeping, inventories and places incoming orders on shelves, picks materials for internal distribution and use, monitors inventory and communicates shortages, and provides feedback for process improvement.
Job Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or GED and proven experience as Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position with one (1) to three (3) years of experience in logistics field.
  2. Warehouse Material Handlers must successfully complete all safety training courses as provided by the Company.
  3. Some physical strength is required since you may often need to lift packages by hand. Must be able to lift 50Lbs.
  4. Stand or sit for long periods of time, in addition to delivering materials or tools to site locations to meet customer requirements as needed.
  5. Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards, and perform accurate inventory and recording of ordered items.
  6. Pass a USG federal background investigation and drug test.? The selected individual will have to pass an extensive US government / federal government background check with no felony convictions, and become eligible to achieve and maintain a security clearance
  7. Valid driver's license, clean record, and ability to pass Dean/Fluor driving authorization requirements.
  8. Controlling operations of a forklift and pallet jack.? Prior experience with safe forklift operations a plus.
  9. Basic computer skills. (Word, Excel, CMMS, Etc.)
  10. Must be a well-organized and detail-oriented person in order to maintain warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.??
  11. Strong communication skills are a must.

Abilities
  1. Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
  2. Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  3. Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  4. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  5. Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  6. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  7. Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  8. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  9. Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  10. See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  11. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
