Job description

Overview

We are a team of professionals focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need. We work with children with autism and other special needs, including those with learning challenges, in their homes, in the community, and in schools. Our team is growing and is caring, flexible, and outcome-focused. Our approach is collaborative, progressive, and family-centric. Learn Behavioral is proud of the services we offer for exceptional individuals.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst with a strong IT background to join our growing team. This role sits at the intersection of data, technology, and operations—responsible for both analyzing business performance and leading the development and improvement of the systems and tools we use to run our business. The ideal candidate brings hands-on technical expertise (databases, BI tools, systems architecture) combined with sharp analytical thinking and the communication skills to translate data into action for operational and school-based leaders.

Responsibilities

Systems Development & Technology

  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of internal business systems, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Partner with IT and operational stakeholders to evaluate, implement, and integrate platforms that support staffing, scheduling, billing, and student outcomes tracking.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and reporting infrastructure to support real-time business visibility.
  • Identify system gaps and champion technology solutions that reduce manual work and improve data accuracy.
  • Serve as a technical liaison between business operations teams and IT/vendor partners.

Data Analysis & Business Performance

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to staff allocation, workload, performance metrics, and operational processes.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement through in-depth analysis of both financial and operational data.
  • Assess current workflows and resource utilization strategies; identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the impact of operational and process improvements on staff efficiency, student outcomes, and business goals.
  • Develop actionable recommendations grounded in data and aligned with organizational priorities.

Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Interface with the FP&A team on monthly forecasts, annual budget planning, and monthly close; partner closely with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Work with business owners to help them understand actuals and update forecasts accordingly.
  • Drive enhancements in financial reporting, analysis tools, and accounting process alignment.
  • Support department budget preparation and acquisition integration analytics.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support and lead special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or data analyst role—preferably in a fast-paced, multi-site service organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving business intelligence systems, dashboards, or operational reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with database design, data warehousing, or ETL processes a strong plus.
  • Advanced Excel and data modeling skills; experience with Python or R is a plus.
  • Understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and FP&A processes.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience presenting to senior leaders.
  • Self-starter with strong accountability, urgency, and ability to manage competing priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in K–12 education, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services sectors.
  • Familiarity with EHR, SIS, ABA practice management, or special education data systems.
  • Experience supporting M&A integration from a systems or data perspective.
  • Project management skills or certification (PMP, Agile/Scrum).

ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

  • Analytical and inquisitive — you ask "why" before jumping to solutions.
  • Technically fluent but business-minded — you build systems people actually use.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Collaborative — you work well across finance, operations, clinical, and IT teams.
  • Passionate about mission-driven work and making a difference for children and families
