Republican Jobs is leading the search for an Assistant General Counsel in Texas. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend legislative, legal, and policy work—from drafting bills to testifying at the Capitol.


Job Duties:

  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate legislation impacting civil justice reform.
  • Provide legal research, writing, and policy analysis on civil justice issues.
  • Prepare and deliver testimony before committees and public audiences.
  • Draft and edit amicus briefs, white papers, and legal memoranda.
  • Support coordination with outside counsel on litigation and amicus filings.
  • Track judicial decisions and evaluate their impact on organizational priorities.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with legislators, coalitions, and stakeholders.


Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active Texas Bar membership in good standing.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in litigation or legislative advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft legislation, briefs, and persuasive materials.
